Miss Nigeria 2023: Shaibu Congratulates Edo-born Sectra Okundaye

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, has congratulated Miss Sectra Omosede Okundaye for emerging Miss Supranational in the just concluded Miss Universe Nigeria (MUN) 2023 beauty pageant.

Miss Universe Nigeria, 2023 held its coronation at the Eko Convention Center, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday, September 10.

Okundaye, who hails from Edo State, represented Zamfara in the just concluded beauty pageant, and will represent Nigeria in the upcoming 15th Miss Supranational in Poland.

In a statement, the Deputy Governor hailed Okundaye’s brilliance and exceptional performance, noting that her feat demonstrated the indomitable Edo spirit.

According to Shaibu, Okundaye’s feat is not only a call for celebration but a justification of the innate qualities and potentials of the Edo people.

He said, “I congratulate our very own Miss Sectra Omosede Okundaye, on her emergence as Miss SUPRANATIONAL at the just concluded highly coveted Miss Universe Nigeria Beauty Pageant, held at the Eko Hotel, Lagos. Omosede, an indigene of our dear State, Edo, represented Zamfara in the contest.

“Miss Omosede is a true embodiment of beauty with brain. She has captured our hearts with her remarkable personality, poise, and dedication. Her emergence as MISS SUPRANATIONAL in the 2023 Miss Universe Nigeria Beauty Pageant is a testament to her outstanding qualities and potential to shine on the global stage.”

Comrade Shaibu called on Miss Okundaye whom he described as an inspiration to many young women in Edo and beyond to remain focused.

“Her journey from Edo to national limelight symbolizes the dreams and aspirations of numerous young talents,” the Deputy Governor noted.

He said Okundaye has become a role model, and must encourage others to pursue their dreams fearlessly and embrace their true potential.

The Deputy Governor, however, thanked the organisers of the event which showcases the talent and intelligence of women from around the country, providing them with a platform to make a positive impact in the society.

“I understand that the Miss Universe Nigeria beauty pageant is not merely a competition based on physical appearance but also a platform to promote women empowerment, humanitarian causes, and positive change.
