BREAKING: Buhari swears-in Yakubu for another term as INEC Chairman.

President Muhammadu Buhari, presently before the initiation of the 27th virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, swore in Professor Mahmood Yakubu as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

President Buhari reappointed Yakubu as Chairman of INEC for an additional five-year term on October 27th.

Prof Yakubu is the principal Chairman to be reappointed to head the Commission.

FEC Meeting

The INEC Chairman has said that the nation’s decisions are improving.

Addressing State House Correspondents soon after he was confirmed Prof Yakubu stated:

‘We have unmistakably shown in late races that decisions are improving and they will keep on improving.

‘The National Assembly is holding a formal conference on the alteration of the discretionary lawful system. ‘The arrangements for 2023 general races have continued decisively, we need assurance and thusly the discretionary legitimate system is principal, without which we can’t figure our guidelines and rules. Without our guidelines and rules, we can’t finish up work on the manual for the preparation of impromptu staff for the races.

Then, the Council, before the beginning of the gathering, noticed brief quiet in honor or previous military official, late Gen Domkat Bali, who served the nation as Minister of Defense.

The Head of Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, and different clergymen are partaking in the week after week chamber meeting from their different workplaces in Abuja.
