The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have criticized Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip, for claiming that its leader Nnamdi Kanu jumped bail in 2017.
According to the movement, Orji Uzor Kalu’s statements indicated either ignorance or malicious intent.
In a statement that was released on Thursday by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the organization expressed its concern over what it referred to as Kalu’s “ridiculous statement.” In it, the organization claimed that Kalu had been paid by the Nigerian government to destroy the secessionist group while its leader, Kanu, was in detention from 2015 to 2017.
According to IPOB, the viral video of “a criminal and terrorist sponsor, Orji Uzor Kalu,” in which he claimed that our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu jumped bail in 2017, shocked the organization.
We are both amused and concerned by the ridiculous statement made by Orji Uzor Kalu, a fictitious legislator from Abia North. It is unfortunate that Orji Uzo Kalu, who has a low level of education and is either ignorant of the law or acting maliciously, is able to make such an ignorant statement in public as an enemy of IPOB, Biafra, and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in particular.
“Kalu was the one that the federal government paid to destroy IPOB when MNK was in detention in 2015-2017,” the movement claimed. He tried to persuade MNK to give up on the Biafra restoration movement by visiting him in prison, but Mazi Nnamdi Kanu let him down. He attempted to bribe MNK’s parents, but they turned him down.
He attempted to bribe IPOB leaders, but he was unsuccessful. As a result, he failed completely to end the movement. MNK received bail in the end in 2017. When they went to the house of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to assassinate him, he and the ruling terrorist government of APC in Nigeria, having failed to stop MNK and IPOB, organized Operation Python Dance. MNK was saved by Chukwu Okike (God), but numerous IPOB members who were at our leader’s house that day were murdered.
“You claim to be a lawmaker, yet you don’t know that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu did not jump bail,” IPOB said of Kalu’s challenge. The ranting of Orji Uzor Kalu in the viral video cannot alter the judgments of various Nigerian courts.
