BREAKING:Old Naira Notes No More legal tender, CBN warns public, banks

The National Bank of Nigeria has demanded that old N200, N500 and N1,000 notes are at this point not lawful delicate regardless of a High Court request banning the pinnacle bank from executing the February 10 termination date for the old notes.

Haladu Idris Andaza, CBN’s branch regulator in Bauchi, unveiled this to writers on Monday.

“For the aversion of uncertainty, we wish to state completely that CBN is prepared and is available to get those old notes in light of specific circumstances and rules. Clients are allowed to come to the bank and store which they can’t do at the business banks any longer on the grounds that the cash has failed to be a legitimate delicate since the tenth of this current month,” Mr Andaza said.

He further said people and establishments with old banknotes can store them with parts of the summit bank across 36 conditions of the country.

“The administration of the CBN concluded that those clients will have a moan of help by coming to the workplaces of the CBN in every one of the 36 states in the league including FCT to store their cash. The client needs to go to the CBN entrance and fill a structure in the entryway, there will be a structure there concerning this cash update and trade,” Mr Andaza said.

In October, CBN lead representative Godwin Emefiele reported the update of the N200, N500 and N1,000 last October.
