Motherland Warriors are not members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, according to its declaration that it does not have a youth wing.
The public was urged to ignore IPOB’s claims that the Motherland Warriors were organized criminals supported by politicians in Enugu State against their opponents.
Mr. Emma Powerful, the IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, issued a statement titled: Motherland Warriors wanted to hide under the Eastern Security Network, or ESN, in order to unleash terror on their adversaries, but they are sponsored criminals, not ESN agents.
The IPOB statement read: We, the IPOB’s global family and movement, led by Nnamdi Kanu, want to make it clear to everyone that the criminals camping in the bushes of some parts of Enugu State and claiming to be ESN Motherland Warriors are neither ESN members nor IPoB members.
“Operators of the ESN do not have nicknames; They do not have any Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp handles. The Nigerian government, some politicians in Enugu State, some traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other state actors in Enugu State support these organized criminals.
The viral video that they released in Enugu State shows who their targets are. Although they claimed to be ESN, they are not ESN and do not represent ESN. In order to blackmail IPoB and ESN with criminality, the Nigerian government and some criminal politicians in Enugu State have hired criminals to continue impersonating ESN through unscrupulous individuals. However, this cannot work.
