The recent attacks on INEC offices and staff in Ihiala LGA, Anambra State, are condemned by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by the remarkable and capable leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. In order to demonize IPOB and ESN agents, the criminal gangs in Ihiala LGA and Orsuihiteukwa in Orsu LGA are primarily supported and funded by dishonest politicians through Hope Uzodinma.
IPOB maintains that we have no interest in the Nigerian election selection process. As a result, we decided not to say anything about the Jamboree. Our one and only demand is a referendum date so that Biafrans can choose between a united Nigeria or an independent Biafra Nation for their political, social, and economic future.
We did not issue any sit-at-home orders during the election period, and IPOB and ESN agents did not ask any group to attack INEC facilities for any reason. It must be extremely ignorant to link IPOB to the malicious sit-at-home order. Information can be disseminated by IPOB itself through programs on Radio Biafra, our Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful, or an official IPOB memo signed by Mazi Chika Edoziem, Head of the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra. It is important to disregard any IPOB public information that does not originate from the aforementioned channels.
We urge our people not to listen to any fake information that claims to link IPOB to criminal activities carried out by collaborators and infiltrators. Criminal gangs that are paid to intimidate our people and blackmail our peaceful movement will be very uncomfortable in Biafraland due to the presence of IPOB volunteers and ESN operators. We will unleash our venom on those who want to blackmail IPOB, so Nigerian security agencies that have been assisting, abetting, and supporting these criminals recruited and funded by politicians must stay clear.
We will not permit our adversaries to continue with their obnoxious plan to destroy IPOB and ESN Operatives and derail our freedom match. The task ahead is enormous, and our adversaries are relentlessly utilizing every means at their disposal to destroy IPOB through this election. The attacks on INEC facilities during this time are not supported by IPOB because they won’t help our fight in any way. We are not seeking Biafra’s freedom through violence but rather through peaceful means.
