Politics: Ebubeagu commander narrates how gunmen killed his pregnant wife burn his Two houses

Kalu Chima, Commander of the Ebubeagu Security Network in the Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has described how on New Year’s Day, gunmen stormed his house and shot and killed Urenma Chima, his seven-month pregnant wife.

His two Amaoso community homes were also set on fire by the assailants.

Chima told our reporter in Abakaliki that the attack was the result of recent fights between supporters of two powerful political figures in the same local government, Ekoli Edda.

He stated, ” I was sleeping in my bed on January 1, 2023, with my wife and two children, Roseline Kalu Chima, two years old, and Blessing Kalu Chima, 12 years old. I heard a gunshot in front of my house, which immediately jolted me awake.

“I walked to the window and opened the curtain; I recognized all 19 men carrying AK-47 rifles.

I jumped the fence and landed in the area where the villagers dump their trash. My wife yelled and was unable to speak again as I lay there and heard the final shot. They ignited my two homes by pouring fuel on them.
