Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the National Director of Publicity for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), has issued a warning that supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, might de-market him less than 60 days before the election.
Baba-Ahmed expressed concern that Obi’s supporters might impede the election in the Southeast, where he is considered to be “strongest,”
Because it might not work in their favor during the presidential election, he urged Obi’s supporters to lower the level of violence in the Southeast.
In response to the following tweet from a user on Twitter, Baba-Ahmed issued the warning. People will continue to claim that Obi is their sponsor even if he participates in IPOB negotiations.
“We can’t take power from PDAPC by being passive or singing cumbaya; we have to be aggressive, and I believe we haven’t been as aggressive as we should have been considering what happened,”
Baba-Ahmed tweeted in response: Obi’s supporters should assist him in reducing East violence. This is done by human beings. They are de-marketing him, giving the impression that he faces significant opposition from the local community. They might impede an election in which he is most powerful.
“I am now convinced that YOU did not read the material. The violence in the SE was attributed to numerous factors. A more peaceful election will be most beneficial to Obi.
“Parrallels between SE and N do not alleviate the issues. Are Obi’s supporters anticipating peace?
“Much of it. Obi will suffer more than any other person if you insist on parallels with 2015 and 2019. In keeping with tradition, his supporters are waving the magic wand to greet him as President.
I wasn’t kind to anyone, but I can’t say anything about Obi’s difficulties. Some individuals see opposition in everything that is said.
