JUST IN:Imo PDP chieftains diverted Atiku’s fund to APC – Secretary

Samuel Anyanwu, the People’s Democratic Party’s National Secretary, has accused some party chieftains in Imo State of sabotaging Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, during the most recent presidential and National Assembly elections.

Ikenna Onuoha, Anyanwu’s spokesperson, made the claim in a statement that the party’s unnamed chieftains took the PDP’s election funds and worked for the All Progressives Congress instead.

“The National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, expresses displeasure over the number of saboteurs surrounding the party in Imo State, adding that all their efforts are to ensure that the PDP does not exist in the state,” read one portion of the statement.

“Anyanwu says the essential targets of these saboteurs during the fair closed official and Public Gathering races were to starve the party and its individuals from reserves prior endorsed and delivered as political decision intercession reserves.

“As per him, in the wake of capturing the political race mediation reserves delivered to the party in Imo Express, a portion of the saboteurs turned around against competitors of PDP and participated in enemy of party exercises to legitimize the arrangement they had with heads of the All Reformists Congress.

“The PDP national scribe therefore calls on the party’s candidates and other aggrieved members who suffered neglect and pure betrayals at the hands of these saboteurs to remain calm and assures them that all legal means will be used to bring those directly and indirectly involved to account,” the scribe said.

“Anyanwu expresses optimism that those who betrayed the PDP would soon be made public, while assuring them of efforts to revive the party and make it more viable and formidable ahead of the November 11 governorship election,” the statement reads.
