BREAKING: The ex-candidate for president’s lawsuit for Buhari’s dismissal is dismissed by the court.

Chief Ambrose Albert Owuru, a former candidate for president of the Hope Democratic Party, HDP, filed a lawsuit against President Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2019 presidential election. The suit was dismissed on Monday by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo rejected the lawsuit on three main grounds, all of which called for President Buhari’s immediate ouster.

The suit was barred by statute, violated the supremacy of the Nigerian Supreme Court, and constituted a gross abuse of court procedure are among the grounds.

In addition, Justice Ekwo ruled that the suit as a whole was baseless, frivolous, irritating, and vexatious.
