One Nigeria can be achieved through referendum, not force — Kanunta

UMUAHIA — Kanunta Okwu Kanu, the immediate younger brother of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), said the only way to achieve ‘one Nigeria’ is through dialogue and a referendum.

According to him, no government can achieve the unity of Nigeria by using force.

The activist who made this known on Saturday, called on the federal government to address the issue of inequalities in Nigeria instead of attacking those crying out against the injustice.

In short messages published on his Facebook page, Kanunta said: “Supposedly those who should be addressing the issues of inequalities rocking the existence of Nigeria, are the once calling all the IGBO’S separatist. What a one Nigeria?

“One Nigeria by force NO government can achieve, except through dialogue and the official way to do it, is through REFERENDUM”.

“Nigerian government believes that assassination, kidnapping and intimidations will solve the Fulani islamization agenda in Biafra Land.

“The world is focusing on Nigeria and her handlers.”

Kanunta, had called on the federal government of Nigeria to ensure that the life of his detained brother, Nnamdi Kanu, is not in danger.

Kanunta who condemned the unlawful arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, described it as “kidnapping”, which is “extraordinary rendition”.

“Nigeria and Kenya committed a crime against humanity by kidnapping Mazi Nnamdi Kanu that is called EXTRAORDINARY RENDITIONS. Nobody is talking about prison break here,” Kanunta said in a tweet while reacting to the claim by DSS that the IPOB leader is seeking transfer to Kuje prison “where he can easily escape”.

“Those of you that believe assassination attempt on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s life, will solve the problems in Nigeria, I can categorically tell you, that you are a joke.

“Nigeria government of Fulani extraction should be very careful,” Kanunta added.
